Here I write an Ode to death.
To the Closure and finality.
To the end of pain and suffering.
To the transcendence from mortality,
Back to the purity of the Earth.
To the innocent dawn of life itself.
It is not of what we do after we die,
But what we do while we live.
Death ends quarrels and makes resolution.
Death brings us to revelations.
Death, the final graceful step we take,
In our finite yet infinite lives.
Death is something not that we should fear,
But something we should embrace.
Relief from the burden of living,
The weight of petty desires and needs.
Relocation to eternal peace, in the
Permanence of the earth, the firm
Foundation of eternal slumber.
To death we owe thanks for
A peace we know we will receive
When all is said and done.
A peace not determined by any
other person, or government or god,
But a peace determined by existence
Itself.
Death is not the end,
But only a transition to
Peace.
